This morning, McAfee released news that they have named Bill Rielly as the Senior Vice President for the company’s SMB division. In his new role, Mr. Rielly will work with company President, Michael DeCesare, on strengthening McAfee’s global presence in the SMB sector.
Bill Rielly comes to McAfee from Apple, where he worked as the worldwide SMB segment lead for the company’s Apple Online Store. He has also worked for Microsoft and JP Morgan Chase, after graduating from the United States Military Academy at West Point.
“Rielly has had phenomenal success in taking some of the most notable brands in the industry and expanding their share of the SMB market worldwide. He understands the needs of business owners and can envision the opportunities that we can drive in this important market with our deep portfolio and strong cloud offerings,” said DeCesare, in a press release today.
McAfee chose Rielly for his hands-on experience with SMB security, particularly as a majority of cyber-attacks are focusing on the SMB space, as cybercriminals are expecting smaller companies to underestimate the amount of security they need. In fact, the company cited a NCSA Small Business Study from October 2012 that found 75% of all cyber-attacks from 2011 were aimed at small and medium-sized businesses.
