F5 Networks today announced a series of additions and enhancements to both their physical and virtual Application Delivery Controller (ADC) lines. The new offerings are expected to be generally available by the end of February 2013, and are designed for both entry-level and higher performance infrastructures, including those in the cloud.
“We remain focused on offering the most capable physical and virtual ADCs to meet the growing needs of organizations, regardless of which IT and data center architectures they choose to pursue,” said Karl Triebes, EVP of Product Development and CTO at F5 Networks, in a press release today.
In particular, F5 Networks presented three new options for their BIG-IP line, including the BIG-IP 2000, which is designed for entry-level use and has 10 GbE interfaces. The BIG-IP 4000 and BIG-IP 10200v are designed for higher-performance systems and can handle up to 850,000 L7 requests per second and 40 GbE interfaces, respectively. F5 also enhanced their virtual ADC offering by featuring up to 3 Gbps of throughput. Finally, F5 released stats for their new VIPRION 4800 chassis. The device features 160 Gbps of throughput and the ability to apply services at a rate of 20 million L7 requests per second. All of these offerings feature F5 Networks’ ScaleN technology.
