Call it the economic multiplier effect. Microsoft is one of the biggest economic engines in the Seattle area (along with Boeing and Amazon). As is common in a sector, there are newly-formed businesses being created almost daily by former Microsoft employees. One such company is BitTitan, a software company that has an Office 365 migration tool. In 2007, Geeman Yip left Microsoft to create a tools software company. His intent was to fill gaps in the market, such as a migration solution. It’s important to remember that this was literally at the start of the Microsoft Online Services with its Business Productivity Office Suite (BPOS) product.
Yip shared that his company, while starting as a cloud-based migration solution, has expanded into other cloud services, where BitTitan can provide solutions that reduce friction. It has the following portfolio in market today:
Pictured: Harrybbb and the G-man!
MigrationWiz. I’d offer this is the best known brand from BitTitan that essentially migrates Mailbox, Public Folders, Documents and Archives from the server-side to Office 365. This is especially important now with the Windows Server 2003 end-of-support deadline looking for July 14, 2015. Let’s just say there is going to be a lot of migration motion over the next year.
UserActivation. This is the automated Office 365 onboarding tool.
DeploymentPro. Simply stated, this is automated Outlook configuration.
SmtpLogic. This is an e-mail gateway.
Data Encryption. This solution allows you to encrypt Office 365 data in the cloud.
On my recent 30-city tour that delivered the Office 365 message, the BitTitan name kept coming up in lecture and I was both startled and thrilled to find that it’s based in Seattle and leading the Office 365 ISV tool community.
At the Worldwide Partner Conference, BitTitan made a huge splash under the tradeshow axiom of “Go Big or Go Home.” It sponsored the oversubscribed FIFA World Cup Final Party on Sunday, July 13th where Germany topped Argentina. Significant signage directed you to the BitTitan pavilion, where the “G-man,” as Geeman allowed me to call him, was working the floor.
But the real news at WPC was BitTitan’s revamped partner program. It was a forthcoming worldwide roadshow coordinated in conjunction with the IAMCP to train users on Office 365. The workshops will help partners sell and increase revenue by teaching them how to navigate the Microsoft product stack and understand the market landscape so they can provide the best solutions to their customers’ evolving business needs and challenges at the right stage of their business. BitTitan’s education efforts will enable partners to identify new growth and upsell opportunities, improving their overall sales process and customer relationship development. Partners who attend workshops qualify to receive additional benefits.
The partner program revamp also includes a complimentary certification program based on online courses and examinations. Certification enables partners to build added trust with their customers through proven knowledge to enhance their marketability. Certified partners also qualify for free phone support, among other benefits.
The BitTitan Partner Program includes:
• Single-tier program at no cost, enabling partners to benefit from the program as soon as they enroll
• Product discounts
• Free online support
• Training
• Unlimited access to the BitTitan Partner Center
• Marketing materials and sales tools
• Certification and education program
• Phone support (with additional fees for non-certified partners)
“At BitTitan, our partners’ success is our success. We designed our partner program to make sure they can be as successful as possible,” said Geeman Yip, BitTitan CEO. “Through education, automation and scalable solutions, the BitTitan Partner Program sets our partners up for long-term growth, increases their profitability and gives them a competitive advantage.”
“BitTitan’s knowledge of the market landscape and their ability to deliver the right solution for the right project has been a critical part of our success,” said Frank Johnson-Suglia, managing partner, Strategic SaaS. “By enabling us to automate the entire migration and onboarding process, we’ve been able to work with customers of all sizes, from SMBs to enterprises with 10,000+ employees, giving us the opportunity to sell more and grow.“
