AVG recently announced that it will be the headline sponsor at the 2014 Child Internet Safety Summit, being held in Westminster, London, UK on July 3, 2014. This particular summit, currently in its third year, is focused on creating a safer web environment in which children can learn.
The 2014 Child Internet Safety Summit is a one-day event with an expected 300 attendees, composed of top child education and security professionals. AVG is scheduled to present the opening keynote address this year, which will focus on the latest internet threats and where action is needed.
“Since sponsoring the Child Internet Safety Summit last year the online child safety debate has moved on leaps and bounds,” said Tony Anscombe, senior security evangelist at AVG Technologies. “As Government officials make steps towards making the internet a safer more regulated place for children, our main concern is ensuring that parents and education professionals understand the real world implications of these legislative changes. We are determined to guide parents through these changes and help them make sense of their child’s online world and are pleased that the Child Internet Safety Summit will give us a platform to do this.”
AVG will also be presenting interactive seminars on how to share information securely, as well as information on online privacy and tracking.
