Yesterday, Seattle-based managed services provider Avanade, announced that they have acquired Opstera, a Bellevue, WA-based application management company. Today’s announcement is a complement to Avanade’s acquisition of Azaleos in late 2012, which further extends the company’s reach into the managed cloud services niche.
In a press release yesterday, Paddy Srinivasan, Opstera Co-Founder, said, “Operations management of Software-as-a-Service and other cloud applications is becoming critical with the proliferation of cloud platforms. We have invested several years in developing a unique, proprietary technology that helps companies efficiently monitor and manage their applications running on public cloud platforms. Ranjith and I are excited that our software has a new home with Avanade – the global leader in Microsoft services.”
In particular, Opstera’s public cloud management software will allow Avanade to offer monitoring and management services for Windows Azure applications in a public cloud, which will give the company’s customers a more robust selection of cloud options. Avanade will also gain Opstera co-founders, Paddy Srinivasan and Ranjith Ramakrishnan, both of whom will bring years of specialized experience to the company.
