Yesterday, Sunnyvale, CA-based Zetta.net announced the release of DataProtect 4.0, the latest version of the company’s 3-in-1 cloud backup solution. In addition, the company announced that they have received another $8 million in Series B funding, raising their total backing to $39.5 million. Zetta.net has recently seen a 243% year over year customer growth rate, and most of their backing funds are allocated to research and development for cloud technologies.
The newest version of DataProtect includes the following features:
- Updated UI: with enhanced automation wizards and backup checklists.
- WAN Optimization: Zetta.net explained that the DataProtect 4.0 can have up to 200% faster backup speeds than the previous version, and recovery of multi-TB systems can be completed within 24 hours.
- Exchange Server Backup Plug-In: Now includes support for more complex Exchange configurations.
- Local Backup Options: Users may choose to backup critical or large data on-site, reducing the recovery time needed.
