It’s Microsoft’s decision to end-of-life Windows XP, Microsoft Server 2003 and Exchange Server 2003 all on April 8, 2014. It’s Y2K all over again.
SMB leaders are starting to recognize this opportunity. The June 2013 “Clever Tech” newsletter for SMB customers produced by Computer Troubleshooters of Anderson, S.C., led with an article titled “The Countdown to April 8, 2014. It’s happy (but ominous) vulnerability warning is spot on with the customer messaging to drive business from the SMB IT Pro. And the Start button recognition paragraph is the first time I’ve seen that line-of-reasoning in a Windows XP migration article as I’ve focused on this topic for this column.
