Road Closed Ahead Starting April 8th and SBS 2003, XP

xpm roadclosedDid you know the great threat and opportunity to many of your SMB customers lurks a mere 250-days from now?

You should be keenly focused on the April 8th opportunity – something many SMB IT Pros liken to the Y2K madness of a generation ago. Think about it. You have a “statuary deadline” announced by Microsoft for Small Business Server 2003 and the end-of-support. Our research shows that literally every SMB IT Pro has at least one client STILL RUNNING SBS 2003!

The threat is that, starting on April 9, 2014, Microsoft will not update the underlying operating system (Windows Server 2003) and applications (e.g. Exchange Server 2003) with patches, fixes, definitions and service packs. That means, theoretically, April 8, 2014 (a Tuesday) will literally be the last “Patch Tuesday) for anything ’03 and for Office 2003 and Windows XP.

The opportunity is simple. This is “easy-pleasey” work you can perform for your clients. You can take them to a modern solution (on-premises, hybrid, cloud) with complete justification. In talking with SMB IT Pros, the number $50,000 in incremental revenue over the next year has been tossed about with confidence.

Want to learn more about the “road closures” and the April 8th threat and opportunity? Then you must take close look at the SMB Nation Fall Conference aka “Live Experience” being held October 10-12, 2013 at the Rio in Las Vegas, NV. We have a Migration Madness pathway that arms you to seize the day starting the following Monday when you return to work!

1.) The NT 5.2 codebase is still being supported by Microsoft until 2016
2.) I still have multiple customers on Win95, Win98, Win2K, OS/2, older Linux, older Unix, older Netware, ...
3.) So no more Windows Update for XP? Equals no more dreading patch Tuesday. No new IE or Chrome? There is Mozilla and Opera. No Office 2013 for XP or Vista? Several of my XP customers recently upgraded to Office 2010. Most third party security software vendors still support Win2K and even Win98.
4.) Officially M$ no longer has a support lifecycle for SBS2003; support dates are for individual components in SBS2003, many long expired
