snom technology AG today announced that they will add HP’s Lync-enabled IP phone models, the HP 4110 and HP 4120 to their reseller community. snom, a long-time HP channel partner, will use this opportunity to expand their IP phone portfolio. The company expects to have the above-mentioned phone models available late this month.
Both of the HP IP Phones (4110 and 4120) come with Microsoft Lync software pre-installed. Unlike snom’s other Lync-enabled models, these phones work only on a Lync environment, though they allow users to access rich calendar and contact information from their other Microsoft applications. With today’s announcement, snom will be responsible for the sales and marketing of these phones to their reseller base, while HP will provide Tier 1 level support.
“As the market for Microsoft Lync expands, businesses require the flexibility to deploy solutions that fit their specific needs, whether that’s Lync-optimized devices or Lync-qualified devices,” said Michael Knieling, COO of snom technology AG in Berlin, in a press release today. “We can offer more choices to our customers, whatever their needs may be.”
