SkyKick recently announced the launch of a Data-Only migration application, designed to help MSPs, VARs and other IT Pros move their SMB customers’ data to Office 365. The key point of this release is that SkyKick has, in essence, unbundled its Migration Suite to allow IT Pros to just access the data migration functionality.
According to SkyKick reps, this was driven by a customer demand of those who just needed data migration services, without automation services. Office 365 migration projects can take the IT Pro anywhere between 40 and 300 hours of work time, with data migration consuming 20% of the average project.
Trent Schwartz, Director of Migrations, SkyKick, elaborated on this point: “Our partners told us about 10 percent of customers needed SkyKick’s world-class data migration capabilities, without all the project automation features our Migration Suites provide. So we built the Data-Only product to enable our partners with SkyKick’s data migration technology, as well as deliver some innovative new features to reduce risk and save them time and effort.“
SkyKick’s Data Only Migration Application is a web-based program that will allow the IT Pro to build a planner to discover mailboxes, and automatically match them to maintain consistency throughout the migration. In addition, this application has a Server Sync feature, which will fully synchronize all of the calendar, contact, email and Public Folder data throughout the process of migration.
