Earlier this week, Intronis released the results of a study conducted in September 2013 by The 2112 Group, titled “The 2013 State of Cloud Backup.” This study was made up of responses from 350 IT Service Providers, including MSPs, and the main result showed that SMBs are tending not to have any BDR plans until after a disaster occurs.
Additional findings include:
- 30% of data that SMBs are storing are files for backup and recovery purposes, followed by 28% for personal files and 19% for line-of-business applications.
- 34% of SMBs are turning to cloud-based BDR for the benefit of business continuity.
- 20% of SMBs expect these new technologies to improve the reliability of their overall IT systems.
- 56% of IT service providers are reporting Backup and Recovery as a top-seller
