Earlier today, MicroPower Technologies, Inc., a San Diego, CA-based surveillance device company, announced that it has been awarded the top honor in the Green Technology category at the first annual American Technology Awards.
MicroPower Technologies earned this honor with their solar-powered, wireless surveillance camera that can monitor between ½ and 2 miles, and work for 5 straight days in complete darkness. As a company, MicroPower has been working to help its customers keep on top of the technology trends while remaining sensitive to the environmental impact of new technology. “Solar energy itself is not a new concept, but using it specifically as a surveillance and security solution is a significant step forward in innovation,” said Aaron Tankersley, CEO, MicroPower Technologies, in a press release today. “Our unique and cost-effective approach to video surveillance also revolutionizes the way our customers can leverage video for operational purposes while maintaining an environmentally-positive corporate culture.”
These awards, which were held on May 20 in Washington, DC, awarded top honors to 15 products and services from 100 submissions. The ATAs were sponsored by TechAmerica, which is a division of CompTIA. All winners are set to be honored at a gala event in June.
