Earlier today, Imation launched two new updates to their Nexsan solution line. These new updates include the Nexsan NST Unified Hybrid Storage Platform, and the NestOS version 3.0, an updated, flexible operating system.
Imation highlighted the Nexsan NST6000 in a press release. According to the company, this particular model is application-friendly, and is designed to handle both SAN and NAS workloads simultaneously. The solution is based on solid-state tech and has been updated to include a FASTier acceleration level, which can increase storage I/O performance and help extend the life of the SSDs.
Imation’s new NST Hybrid Storage platforms run on the company’s updated OS, NestOS 3.0, which was built using programmer and end-user feedback. Ralph Akhras VP or Product Development at Imation explains: “NestOS 3.0 is an exciting starting point for a new class of fully unified hybrid storage solutions. To develop it, we brought together feedback from end users and partners along with a development team that has a broad range of storage systems design and programming expertise.”
According to Imation, the Nexsan NST6000 series and NestOS 3.0 will be available this Fall. For a data sheet on the NST6000 line, please view the PDF here.
