This week, the Emulex Corporation announced that four new partners have adopted their LightPulse Gen 5 Host Bus Adapters (HBAs) for use with flash/SSD and SAN appliances. The new partners include Nimbus Data Systems, Infortrend, EchoStreams and Vicom Systems.
The company’s Gen 5 Fiber Channel HBA line is currently listed as the most-adopted technology of its kind, with 65% of the market share, according to an October 2012 study. This line features up to 1.2 million iOPS per port and GreenState power efficiency.
Shaun Walsh, Senior Vice President of Marketing and Corporate Development at Emulex, spoke in a bit more detail about this technology in a press release sent to SMB Nation: “Emulex Gen 5 Fibre Channel HBAs offer the performance, throughput and low latency necessary to fully leverage the abilities of today's servers and storage.
