Dot Hill Completes Patent Process for SAS Systems

Dot HillDot Hill Systems Corp recently announced that they have patented a new method for Serial Attached SCSI-based storage systems. This marks the 90th patent for the company and has been incorporated into the AssuredSAN 3000 series of arrays.

The new method developed by Dot Hill allows users to have better availability and reliability of data. In addition, storage arrays will attempt to lower connection speeds on transfers with any link errors, which will prevent the connection from quitting or timing out. According to Dot Hill, data is still accessible even with link errors.
