AVG Passes 1k Partner Mark, Releases New Version of CloudCare

AVG TechnologiesYesterday at CES 2013 in Las Vegas, AVG announced that they have signed more than 1000 partners to their AVG CloudCare small business IT management platform. The first version of CloudCare was launched in October 2012 at the SMB Nation Fall Conference, and the latest version, 2.1, was unveiled at CES yesterday.

AVG reported that in addition to the 1000 partners, they are also managing tens of thousands of endpoints in North America and the UK.  AVG CloudCare is currently a cloud-based admin platform that allows users to remotely deploy AVG content filtering and antivirus. Users only pay for the services they use, and any service can be activated or deactivated on an “as needed” basis. CloudCare 1.0 also features AVG Remote IT, which is a free remote troubleshooting tool.

The newest version, AVG CloudCare 2.1, which was announced at CES yesterday, features some protection and management updates, including the addition of AVG 2013 AntiVirus with automated updates, the ability to transfer or upgrade customers with one click, 24-month billing options and an improved user interface.

“Our success to date has been driven by a close collaboration between our development team and partner base to bring the right product to market at the right time for our customers,” explained Mike Foreman, General Manager, AVG SMB. “Because our leadership team comes from SMB and channel roots, we understand the challenges and needs facing small businesses and the channel. We continue to gather their input to refine and advance the product.”

AVG offers a free 30-day trial of their CloudCare solution to any reseller in the UK, Ireland and North America. Please note that the trial is on a sign-up basis. To learn more about CloudCare, please visit the site here.
