This morning, 8x8, Inc. and SoftBank Telecom Corp. have announced that they have entered into an agreement wherein SoftBank will be able to license 8x8’s enterprise cloud software. This will allow the Tokyo-based telecom to develop a suite of virtualized cloud services for their global customers.

In particular, 8x8 will license their Zergio Enterprise Cloud software for SoftBank. This software is subscription-based and has four RAM and storage tier options. Users may import and protect VMs, and automate their provisioning process. As part of today’s announcement, 8x8 will be provided with installation and 36 months of license fees, as well as development fees, which the company will use to create additional VDI software specifically for SoftBank.
