Unvired, Inc. today announced the release of its Application Development Platform for Wearables, allowing developers to build applications for Wearables including smart glasses and smart watches.
Along with the release of this platform, Unvired launched its first Glass and Wear applications that integrate SAP, bringing information from SAP onto Wearables.
These apps allow employees in the warehouse to check stock and move goods on their SAP system. Executives can use the Wearables Application to receive notification of Purchase Orders waiting for approval and choose whether to reject or approve the PO, continuously updating their SAP system as they use their Wearables.
"We see many Business Use Cases- Field Service, Healthcare, Manufacturing, Oil & Gas, and Utilities present themselves as excellent candidates for use of smart glasses and smart watches,” Unvired CEO Alok Pant said. "Workers can get notifications, instructions, take pictures, record videos, view digital checklists in environments where hands free input and output of data is critical."
Unvired is also working with non-profit organizations to build Glass apps designed to engage with stakeholders and raise funds.
