Scality today announced availability of its open-source REST Block Driver, software deployable on Linux-based servers. The driver exposes a block device to applications, with REST-based, CDMI-compliant transport to backend storage and supports basic connectivity to the Scality RING storage platform.
“We’re committed to technical innovation, the open source community, and proving the power of software-defined,” said Giorgio Regni, CTO of Scality. “With the novel approach of the REST Block Driver, we intend to make it easier for customers to use Scality (as well as other storage technologies), as they build OpenStack clouds and infrastructures that support broad workloads and limitless scale.”
The REST Block Driver will be demonstrated in Scality’s booth E25 at the OpenStack Summit in Paris and is available for download here.
