Wireless LAN solution provider Extricom Ltd. announced availability of its RP-23ac access point that uses its Channel Blanket architecture to maximize the efficiency and reliability of the 802.11ac Wi-Fi standard.
Extricom’s single-channel architecture using one clear 80MHz channel can support an entire facility with a full-featured 802.11ac wireless network. Using a single channel for enterprise wide-coverage prevents interference-related issues, therefore providing a wireless connection that is fast, easy to deploy, and has no roaming delays.
The RP-23ac does not require adjustments to the channel plan or reconfiguration of other APs in order to optimize 802.11ac. RP-23ac also operates its dual radios simultaneously through 802.3af power, which does not require POE infrastructure upgrades.
"802.11ac plays into our hands. Our Channel Blanket approach can fully utilize the channel bonding features that are necessary to realize the big performance promise of 11ac" says Gideon Rottem, Extricom CEO. "Existing Extricom users will be able to quickly boost capacity of existing networks with the RP-23ac simply by layering an additional 802.11ac channel blanket - with zero disruption, no site survey, and no channel planning required.”
As 11abg and 11n multi-channel networks become outdated, 11ac and single-channel networks are a reliable and effective option with a significant performance advantage.
The RP-23ac is priced at $895.
