Broadvox said that it is bringing cloud-delivered video services to SMBs and enterprises. The service will use plug-and-play desktop solutions from Polycom, Inc., and will allow users to easily collaborate face-to-face with colleagues, partners and customers across a variety of standards-based video platforms.
The service is built around Polycom VVX Business Media Phones and the Polycom VVX Camera, which offers plug-and-play installation to transform Polycom VVX 500 and Polycom VVX 600 Business Media Phones into cost-effective, high definition video collaboration environments. Users install the 720p HD video camera simply by plugging it into the USB port at the top of the phone, and since no software drivers are required, users can join a video conference in a matter of seconds. The service works over existing VoIP networks, so deployment is easy and cost-effective.
For Broadvox customers, the Polycom VVX 500 and VVX 600 Business Media Phones offer convenient and cost-effective ways to deploy point-to-point video collaboration throughout the workplace. The carrier-grade phones feature touchscreens and an intuitive user interface that delivers the familiar tap-and-swipe usability of smart phones and tablets to the desktop. Video features include a privacy shutter, adjustable tilt, multiple video screen modes, side-by-side and PIP (picture-in-picture) window modes, and adjustable frame rates.
