Schneider Electric introduced the APC Back-UPS Connect BGE70, an uninterruptible power supply designed to power small loads for several hours during a power outage.
The BGE70 can charge consumer electronics such as tablets and smartphones during an extended outage, power a connected home hub, and power small loads such as modems, routers, and VoIP phones for about 3.5 hours during an outage. It also protects devices from damage through voltage spikes or lows, noise or unstable frequencies with a three-battery backup, surge-protected outlets and an easy-to-use reset feature.
“This is a revolutionary approach to UPS design,” said Michael Maiello, Senior Vice President, Home and Business Networks, Schneider Electric. “Consumers and small business owners can now ensure their mission critical devices – and access to their phone, important news updates, email and social media – will be available through the duration of an outage.”
Pricing for the Back-UPS Connect begins at $49.99.
