Meet Synnex!

Geek Speak

If you’ve been attending our six part MSP Tech Talk series, You know that we’ve enjoyed an ongoing dialog with Synnex about moving from the Microsoft Cloud Advisor model to the Microsoft Cloud Solution Provider (CSP) partner role (spoiler alert – there is a June 30, 2017 deadline to do this). Synnex is leading the conversation in the SMB Nation community.

But it begs the question. What is Synnex?

Here is what I found in my research looking at

its own site and Wikipedia. There is true value to conducting this type of research. Whenever I go to a site, I always look at the “About Us” to see how a company presents itself (you should do this – always – and also looked at folk’s LinkedIn profile before you get on a call!)

Here is how Synnex views itself: “SYNNEX Corporation, a business process services company, provides business-to-business services that help our customers and business partners grow and enhance their customer-engagement strategies. Headquartered in Fremont, CA, and with operations in 25 countries, SYNNEX is an industry leader in IT distribution and customer care outsourced services, operating in two business segments: Technology Solutions and Concentrix. SYNNEX is listed on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE: SNX) and was ranked 212 on the 2016 Fortune 500.”

And here is the Wikipedia entry: “SYNNEX Corporation, a Fortune 500 company founded in 1980 by Robert T. Huang based in Fremont, California, is an information technology supply chain services company offering services to original equipment manufacturers, software publishers and reseller customers. The president and CEO, as of November 2008, was Kevin M. Murai.

Synnex distributes products and related logistics services. As a business process outsourcing and contract assembly it works with industry suppliers of IT systems, peripherals, system components, software and networking equipment. The company is one of the major employers in Greenville, South Carolina.

On December 21, 2009, SYNNEX acquired Jack of All Games from Take-Two Interactive.

In December 2010 SYNNEX acquired the managed business solutions division of e4e, an ITes service provider located in Bangalore in India.

A division known as Hyve Solutions integrates and sells products based on the 2012 specifications published by the Open Compute Project. In the same year, Hyve Solutions announced a partnership with IBM and Zettaset to produce a bundled "turnkey" platform for Hadoop-based analytics targeted to the needs of small- and medium-sized businesses.

SYNNEX Corp. Acquired IBM's worldwide customer care business process outsourcing (BPO) services business on 11 September 2013.”
